Creating the Ecosurety impact report: Turning strategy into storytelling
An impact report should do more than list achievements. It should inspire action, reflect purpose, and tell a compelling story about the change your organisation is driving.

An impact report should do more than list achievements. It should inspire action, reflect purpose, and tell a compelling story about the change your organisation is driving. That was exactly our goal in creating the 2024–25 Ecosurety Impact Report.
Working closely with the Ecosurety team, we transformed a technical, multi-faceted brief into a visually engaging, readable and strategic publication that does justice to their powerful mission: ridding the world of unnecessary packaging.
Here’s how we approached it - and why the process matters just as much as the output.
1. Digging deep at kick-off
Every good report starts with a conversation. Our first step was a thorough briefing and kick-off session with the Ecosurety team. We interrogated the aims, clarified the goals, and defined the audiences.
This shaped every creative decision that followed, from tone of voice and structure to data visualisation and design, ensuring the final report aligned with Ecosurety’s evolving brand and ambitions.
2. Understanding the content, together
Ecosurety’s impact spans regulatory work, innovation, education, and culture, with a lot of technical content under each. So we spoke with the Ecosurety team to make sure we understood what each section of the report meant.
3. Designing for clarity and flow
With so much rich content, structure was key. We mapped out a report layout that ensured strong editorial flow, while giving each section the space it needed. From high-level strategy to operational highlights, we built in rhythm and breathing room to guide the reader naturally from section to section.
4. Choosing imagery that reflects impact
While some stock imagery is often essential, Impact Reports can often fall into the trap of overused stock images. So when possible, we selected images that reflected real action, real people, and the communities Ecosurety serves. The result feels authentic and energetic, like the brand itself.
5. Visualising data for maximum engagement
From carbon intensity and recycling rates to reuse systems and employee engagement, the report is packed with data, but data is only as useful as it is understandable.
We extracted the most impactful insights and turned them into fun, digestible visualisations that make information easier to absorb, and much more memorable.
6. Inspiring readers - Inside and out
The final report isn’t just a compliance document, it’s a tool for change. It motivates internal teams and industry peers alike to push for progress in packaging. Whether you’re a policymaker, producer, or recycler, it offers practical takeaways and strategic inspiration.
Why the process matters
This report is the first step in Ecosurety’s new impact strategy. A bold commitment to measurable progress on recyclability, reuse, and industry transformation.
By investing in a strong creative process - one grounded in listening, curiosity and collaboration - Ecosurety now has a report that truly reflects their ambition, and invites others to be part of the journey.
